attempted fix in bug 802418, but i'm seeing this many times in the last week.
note, this is *not* about wifi *disconnecting* when the device goes to sleep.
this is about wifi being *disabled* with no user interaction ever.
i have no steps to reproduce. i just do the normal things, and wifi becomes disabled at some point, and i have to go and enable it again.
the only thing i can think of that is different from normal use is the constant updating. i'm on the nightly channel, so update the system every day.

This is unagi, btw.
Adding qawanted to get some feedback as to:
1) whether we have people doing this daily update cycle
2) whether anyone in QA has noticed this

I think I'm seeing this on my Unagi device running Gaia UI automation (latest mozilla-b2g18 04/22). I establish a residential WiFi connection (WPA2-PSK [AES]); resetting Gaia forgets the established WiFi connection completely; I have to re-establish a connection and re-enter my credentials.

Dietrich: We do have the testing team doing regular OTA updates daily. I can check with them to see if they have seen anything going on with wifi disconnecting on V1 train. I also have one device that I typically OTA on - adding tchung to see if he has seen anything of this sort.

Hm, that's different - you should file a new bug for it.
This bug is solely about the enable/disable toggle acting on it's own volition to disable wifi.

Not sure if you can help to verify if the bug is related to turn off wifi automatically when screen is off.
Since Bug 859895 - Make wifi timeout build-configurable is landed, we can disable wifi automatically turn off by modifying
wifi.screen_off_timeout to 0 in gaia/build/settings.py.
I get the feeling that the wifi is being disconnected due to OOM issues.
I left my device connected and up and running for 2 days and ran into OOM issues where I can't even scan for wifi any more.
Nothing was running other than settings.

I was not able to reproduce this issue. Tried with multiple Unagi builds.
I left my phone connected to WiFi and running for 2 days, without touching it. WiFi did not become disabled. WiFi indicator was present on the notification bar and I was able to browse the web without having to enable the WiFi manually.

I haven't noticed this problem on Nexus 4.
Note: This shouldn't be OOM issues. OOM would likely manifest itself as WiFi *disconnecting* not actually being *disabled*.

Mila, it could be due to some kind of network that we don't handle. Also, I switch between multiple networks during the day - home and work. Did you switch networks at all?
