Details
As of the current editor's draft of the cssom-view module, the CaretPosition specification has a new getClientRect() method:

Simon has noted that there are areas of the CaretPosition interface that need to be tested for conformance to spec. We have mochitests in content/base/test/test_caretPositionFromPoint.html. These might need to some massaging to get them to the correct format.
