Provide a PDF link with such a behavior, please.

I can provide a link, but you will not be able to access it because it is my account at the Southern California Gas Company. Here it is;

https://myaccount.socalgas.com/eservscg/myaccount/display-view.do?viewType=HTML&viewName=PrintFriendly

I clicked on the pdf link for my bill, it appeared in PDF Viewer, I clicked the download button, and then I got the Save dialog box with the "do" extension. I have not had this problem at other sites.

Yes, this link doesn't work because I'm not a SoCalGas's customer. But there are many companies running the same framework to deliver bills, contracts, etc and PDF are downloaded as .pdf. It's probably an issue between this website and Firefox.

Could you test Firefox 23 Nightly which has a better PDF viewer.

I tried Firefox 23 Nightly and it still used the "do" extension when saving a pdf file at Southern California Gas.

My bank does this too. From the tests I did back then, this was due to their webserver sending the PDF named file.do and not setting a MIME type (or using application/octet-stream) on the file. This would have to be confirmed.
Is the issue still present in latest Firefox Nightly? Thank you!

Bill, is it still an issue for you?

No response, closing for now. Let me know if there's still an issue and I'll re-open.
