+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #855269 +++

Just like the interminably long-running bug about WinXP timeouts in random extensions tests, or the newer one about places tests, or the as-yet unfiled one about sync tests, only this one's your cross to bear. Not so heavy a cross since we gave up and hid WinXP xpcshell on most trunk trees, but there's still some visible elsewhere.
