Created attachment 743283 [details] Screen Shot of Server Failure Message. There were a bunch of problems with the Air Mozilla events this morning. 1 - Garbled Audio at the beginning of the Firefox OS presentation. 2 - Air Mozilla Server availability 3 - Connectivity to 10Fwd Window processor from production desk. 4 - Firefox Flicks videos played over Vidyo Sharing link during the Monday Meeting. Here's the back story: 1 - Garbled Audio at the beginning of the Firefox OS presentation. This was caused by setting the room up to play video from the Rack Mini into the camera input of the HD-220. This is required because the frame rate of video played into the sharing input is limited to about 5fps. The method chosen was to tie Rack Mini audio to the Projector YUV input because the MGP window processor does not pass audio, and without this tie the audio is not audible in the room (although it does get to the Vidyo stream). What I failed to test for was adverse interaction with podium microphone audio. This particular tie results in podium microphone audio being fed into the room sound reinforcement out of phase and slightly delayed which garbles audio coming from the podium. I'm exploring alternate audio configurations. Follow the progress of that project in bug #866895 2 - Air Mozilla Server availability Some time after the Air Mozilla stream was started (9:20 AM) and the event (9:30) am, Air Mozilla became unavailable. Initially connection attempts would fail completely (tested on 4 machines in 10Fwd with both wired and wireless connections). At roughly 9:27, connection attempts resulted in a Server Error message (screenshot attached). At about 9:29:30, Air Mozilla was again available. It took a few minutes for people to get the word that it was back up and a refresh would help. 3 - Connectivity to 10Fwd Window processor from production desk. When the speaker arrived it was apparent that he was using a 4:3 slide format instead of the more usual 16:9 format. When we switched the MGP to the 4:3 slide presentation preset, the image size parameters were set incorrectly. Attempts to communicate with the MGP using the Extron MGP Windows program failed. That progam runs on a WinXP VM running in the production desk Mac Mini. It was possible to ping the MGP from the mini, and MGP presets could be recalled using custom-written web widgets via Firefox running on the mini, but the VM apparently couldn't connect and there was no time available to troubleshoot further. To follow progress on this problem see bug #866912 4 - Firefox Flicks videos played over Vidyo Sharing link during the Monday Meeting. Three Firefox Flicks videos were played via the Vidyo sharing input from the SFO office (5fps frame rate). Last Friday Joel, Peter and I worked through how to play video from the Rack Mini to the HD220 camera input in SFO commons. Had it been requested, they could have played it at full frame rate from SFO Commons. But the presenters gave ZERO notice that they intended to do that. We need an education program to explain to Monday Meeting presenters that playing video over Vidyo requires: A - 30 minutes advance notice prior to the meeting. B - A video file, or a link to the video file and not just a link to a page that has a link to a video on an arbitrary streaming service that employs "download discouragement".
