steps:
go here...try to play any category..observe that status bar shows no update and 
no sound is heard.

you are right...adding the smoketester. This link as wellas radio.netscape.com 
does not work on my mac...I still hear no sound. Tracy, do you see this working 
? Can you actually hear the music on any of the channels? Thx!. In the meantime, 
i will try another mac box and see...

to be honest, I've never been able to get the real player plugin working. (well 
at least since we added it as an optional smoketest)

**Note: I manually copied the plugin and XPT file from the "plug-ins" folder to
the components folder AND trash my "Component Registry" file.

Confirming that this is not a problem with the source, but rather a configration
issue with Real Player, cc:ing [e-mail]. Changing summary from: no sound
in netscape radio and reassiging to Arun.

The Real installer on Mac puts both the plugin and XPT file in the browser's
local "plug-ins" folder. In order for scripting to work correctly, the XPT file
 needs to be in the components folder. You also may need to delete your
component registry in the same folder to trigger re-registration. Arun, this
blocks an otherwise smooth install on Mac.
This will probably be a common mistake in installing scripting plugins. Would it
be possible to also scan "plug-ins" folders for XPT files to fix this on our side?

This is no longer needed because of the fix in bug 154272. We will now search
the plugins folder for XPT files so Real can install it there if it wishes.
