Details

From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:0.9.1+) Gecko/20010618
BuildID: 2001061821

Ctrl+w does not close the window when being in the address bar.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Go to address bar ( Ctrl+l )
2.Type in address, before you finish you decide to close the window
  with Ctrl+w

Actual Results: Clears the address bar.

Expected Results: Close the window

This may or may not be a bug ,but Ctrl-w
doesn't close window when typing addresses
in the address bar, this seems somewhat
inconsistent since Ctrl-w is used
to close windows everywhere else, and
it makes it almost impossible to
close the window from the address bar
without using a mouse..., and there is
no use in having Ctrl-w to clear the address
bar since the same can be accomplished by
just pressing Ctrl-l to mark the whole address
and then start typing from scratch.
C-w deletes a word in all textfields (also in HTML forms). This is a NS 4.x
compatibility behavior...

see bug 72352 for a request to have this behavior be pref-able.
