When you long-press home, the current app shrinks into the task manager, which feels correct. However, when you choose an app, the home-screen is shown first, then the app appears from the middle of that. This is especially noticeable if you long-press home, then pick the app you were just in. Verified as an issue in v1-train, can't recall exactly what happens in v1.0.1 but I'm going to assume it's not priority to fix.
This is fixed in master, and assuming it's low-risk, would make a really nice addition to v1.1.0 (given bug 859183, it's likely users will see the app switcher a lot). Trying to nail down the commit that fixed it.
Ends up this is a dupe - great :)

I got this wrong, I must've accidentally built master gaia while testing - this is fixed in master, but I've yet to identify exactly which commit fixes it - will dupe this bug accordingly once I have.

Seems this is a combination of two bugs, that when cherry-picked onto v1-trains, fix the issue. Bug 804270 is due to be uplifted, but it looks like bug 847241 isn't... Will comment on that bug.
Lots of changes in bug 1061324, closing as WFM
