Currently, our email notification feature (see bug 859875) is only available to administrators. We should open this feature to all users. I propose we use this bug to track blockers. I have added some already -- feel free to change the list.

FWIW, a concern to cover that came up in today's webdev meeting: We're sending email directly from the MDN servers. That's a no-no, and can get all of mozilla.org dropped into a spam blacklist. We have a 3rd party email sending service that needs to be coded / configured here before this feature can be opened up to a wider audience.

Excellent point. Can you open a bug for that, or mark an existing bug as blocking this work?

Did we ever get the email notifications opened to everyone? If not, why not?
