Steps to reproduce:
Composed a message, clicked Attach, navigated to a folder, clicked on an MS Word doc to start attaching with Open. Also have done the same sequence with double-click on the doc name. (Same result either way.)
Actual results:
Word 2010, which is not open, starts to install/launch.
Expected results:
I should have been able to attach the doc normally, without Word trying to launch.

Did you set open files with one click in system Control Panel - Folder options?

No. In my folder options, the double-click to open option is set.

Ok, check if this present in Safe Mode (Help - Restart with Add-ons Disabled)
Tried Safe Mode. Issue is still present.
I should mention that only Word docs are the issue. For example, I can attach an Excel file without Excel trying to launch.
