Received this kind email from Martijn: I just had a look at Mozilla's mailinglists: https://mail.mozilla.org/listinfo/ There are still quite some other mailinglists for the MozillaLinks Newsletter. However, this newsletter does not exists anymore, so currently these mailinglists are only spam magnets. When I look at the newsletter-de archives the last actual message was from 2005, the rest is spam: https://mail.mozilla.org/pipermail/newsletter-de/ The Czech edition: same story, Spanish: same, etc. So there could be more of these mailinglists that can easily be removed / archived. If only it was to not attract possible spam messages and clean the list with active Mozilla mailinglists. You might also email the admins of these lists, if only to see how many of these reply to your email. Just a thought I'd like to share with you... -- Kind regards, Met vriendelijke groet, Martijn --- What we have to do: - identify all newsletter-* lists. - verify when they were last legitimately used. - contact the admins of the lists if the lists were not used in the past 6 months and ask them if the list is still needed - for the lists to be deleted, save the archives, send them to the admins, then remove the archives from the server.
From the archives I get this list with "last legitimately used" years: ------------------------------------------ Newsletter 2008 Newsletter-cz 2005 Newsletter-de 2005 Newsletter-dev 2004 newsletter-es 2004 Newsletter-it 2006 Newsletter-jp 2006 Newsletter-pt-br 2006 Newsletter-ru 2004 Newsletter-zh 2006 So none of these lists has been used within the past 6 months ;-)
-cz doesn't have any owners listed. I emailed the other admins for their input.

Only one admin replied and said they don't need anything. Removed all of them.
