Details

The apps can make use of a separate tag field (appTags?) that's not subject to the filter done on the normal tags field. We'd have to ensure that trusted apps make sure that they clean out appTags so that people can't sneak tags in.

Are trusted apps things other than popcorn maker and thimble? If yes, this isn't a blocker. If you mean those apps, specifically, then this is a blocker, please change severity accordingly!
it is the former.
This actually was related to enabling popcorn maker and thimble to add application tags to makes. This ticket can be closed because they can do it, they just don't have a need for it. We also have the Make Editor tool to assist in content curation. Tickets relating to third party tools will start appearing once we identify the requirements for enabling that kind of interaction with the MakeApi.
