User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:20.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/20.0
Build ID: 20130409194949
Steps to reproduce:
When I add a new tab in Firefox (20.0.1), the graphical user interface (particularly around the search bar) often re-renders poorly. This results in the desktop background "peaking through". In a few cases the problem extends into webpages being displayed.
System: Windows 7 Pro, 64 bit (using Windows 'Aero')
GPU: Radeon 7850
Screen: Dell U2713HM (uses Dell Display Manager)
Notable Firefox addons: NASA Night Launch 0.6.20130409
Night Launch Companion 0.1.20130209.2142beta
Actual results:
A simple, but annoying, remedy is to make Firefox rerender itself, either through moving the window or resizing (through double tapping F11). However this doesn't stop the problem from manifesting again.
For a more permanent solution I tried disabling NASA Night Launch and it's affiliated addons; however, the problem persisted with 'Vanilla' Firefox display.
Disabling 'Desktop composition' in the Windows properties was also fruitless
As far as I can tell, there is nothing wrong with my graphics setup (i.e. the gaphics card is fine, as is the screen).
Expected results:
I would like to open new tabs without Firefox rendering poorly.
