(note: this happens only with a mozilla-central gecko; it works correctly with the b2g18 branch) STR: * install "Distant Orbit" from the marketplace * launch the app * wait a few seconds Expected: * we can interact with the game and play with it Actual: * the game seems to work at first but then it freezes, and all the phone freezes with it. Eventually B2G reboots. I tried this with an Unagi. It works with the b2g18 branch, and I also tried running the game in a Desktop Nightly and it works too. Marking qawanted to check that the bug happens also on other phones, as this may be a driver problem (?). Please try with a mozilla-central build.
QA just did a bunch of testing with this app on b2g18 and 1.01, so I'm marking unaffected for those cases - we never saw this bug happen.

Unable to proceed with Step 2 as per the STR given. The launch button is nonfunctional/broken. Please see the logcat and screenshot attached. Tested on Unagi Build ID: 20130514031141 Gecko http://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/rev/81dd97739fa1 Gaia 74471a72825dad10158b7e6938ac8da78b362fdc
Deepa> could you try launching it from the homescreen ? And maybe file a bug on the Marketplace because the non-functional launch button is probably from their side.

Actually, the launch button just calls the launch() method on the app object for the app just installed. So if there's a bug here, it's likely at either the gecko level or gaia level.
I'll mark qawanted to test this by launching the app from the homescreen.
(In reply to Julien Wajsberg [:julienw] from comment #7) > Deepa> could you try launching it from the homescreen ? > Julien: I was not able to see distant orbit app on the homescreen. Here are the steps I performed 1. Flashed Unagi to build ID 20130515030631 2. Search for "Distant orbit" in marketplace 3. Tap on Free button next to distant orbit game 4. Tap on Install on the banner 5. See Error button next to distant orbit game 6. Tap on error button (App already installed msg) 6. Tap on home Expected: Distant orbit on the home screen Actual: Distant orbit app is not found on the homescreen Note: Try to kill the marketplace app process and then open it. Now, Launch button is seen and it's nonfunctional. See attachment(s)

I just tried installing it, and I actually get an error: "INVALID_IDS_JSON". That is Bug 870920, should be pushed to the marketplace tomorrow.
(NI me so that I don't forget this)
Now it's Bug 873600 that's preventing installing Distant Orbit.
FYI, Bug 873600 is sadly still happening on the Marketplace.
looks like we can install Distant Orbit now, but I don't have a mozcentral build to test this now again.
unable to repro issue however start up and playing of game responds very slow. tested on Unagi Build ID: 20130609030724 Gecko: http://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/rev/855a29c9dd68 Gaia: 5ffca88288e6bcbf799053a459b7ee3b1ab1b5ba Platform Version: 24.0a1
