STR: 1. Install FF 1.5.0.9 to "c:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox 1.5.0.9" 2. Start the FF 20.0.1 installer AR: The standard/custom default installation folder will be "c:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox 1.5.0.9"

But installing FF 19.0.2 to a custom folder doesn't make the FF 20.0.1 installer to remember anything.

There are several factors when determining if the installer should try to install into an existing install. Off the top of my head one is the channel and another is whether there is more than one install for the channel. iirc Beta and Release are treated as the same channel.
