The current mortar templates are going to be updated, but until then, we might want to point out to people on devhub that neither require nor volo are mandatory choices, and not requirements for apps development.

Mark G suggested phrasing along the lines of: "volo and node.js are not required if you don't care to use them. They are simply tools commonly used by some Mozilla developers."

I need to clarify something. How hard would it be not to use require.js, volo or node.js with these apps that use them? Would that be too much trouble for a developer to do, to get rid of these tools with these apps?

If it's too hard, then the statement we add should only state the general fact that apps do not require these tools. But I don't want to give them the idea that they are going to easily be able to get rid of those tools.
