From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:0.9.1+) Gecko/20010621
BuildID: 2001062104

Hitting the "Enter" key after typing a URL in the location bar has no effect

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Type in URL
2. Hit enter
3.

Actual Results: Nothing happens

Expected Results: URL should be opened

Picking a URL from the autocomplete pick list still works
Shutting down Mozilla and restarting did not cure the problem, but it
disappeared after clearing history and location bar in preferences and restarting.
Further testing with the 2001-06-21-17-trunk build replicates the problem, but
not always.

I cannot reproduce it at all with the 2001-06-21-13-trunk build.
using: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:0.9.1+) Gecko/20010621

Enter only takes me to a typed URL if it exists in autocomplete.

Getting an error in JS console on failure:
Error: uncaught exception: [Exception... "Component returned failure code:
0x804b0012 [nsIIOService.newURI]" nsresult: "0x804b0012 (<unknown>)" location:

WinMe 2001062204

Pressing Enter after typing in a URL does nothing. Confirming.
This appears to be a duplicate of bug 87243.

Worksforme after deleting history and location bar contents as per Phil Randals
earlier comment.
Robert,

I would agree that this is a dup, but that bug is marked fixed and today's
morning builds should have the fix, but it still doesn't work without the
workaround of deleting session history or just using the file --> Open Web
Location... feature.

Downloaded a new build 20010622(06) and still no problems after opening several
"new" URLs. (I was previously using 20010621(21)). (I'm using RH Linux BTW)

A small thought, I quit and restarted mozilla immediately after clearing
location bar and history. Perhaps this is a necessary step? Also if turbo mode
is in use, it may be necessary to kill mozilla via the task manager(or perhaps
via tray icon if that is now implemented, I've no access to Windows here to
check and relevant bug not to hand).
