Implement MMS indicator in messages list as shown in the attachment. The size and color of the font is specified there as well.

Uh, didn't a bunch of work just get done to add the paperclip icon? Or is this bug only about the text?

Hi Dietrich,
This is the suggestion from UX to indicate a message is an MMS, either with attachment or just long long text. Ideally we would have an attachment icon for the MMS messages with attachment and the orange "MMS" text for the ones that are only text, but we never found the paperclip a good solution for both and my understanding is that  it was a very termporary solution. Do you think this can be implemented soon?

I don't know if this is the right channel for UX input, but it seems useful to know if a message contains an attachment, but less useful to know if it is an MMS, since that is less specific. Will there be a separate indication that a message contains an attachment?

Hey Greg,

Currently, there is no Gecko API for this, so unless we parse the SMIL document of each message in the Thread List (an expensive operation), we are incapable of visualizing this information in the Thread List.

The only bug I could find for this kind of functionality is Bug 850529. It's labeled as a low-priority enhancement, so I'm not sure if we'll see this interface any time soon...

This issue does not repro anymore. The user is able to see the text "MMS" in the message list.

Verified as fixed.
