User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.2; WOW64; rv:21.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/21.0 (Beta/Release) Build ID: 20130511120803 Steps to reproduce: I'm a web developer. Writing a new website, I saw, that bigger fonts in Firefox are simply ugly. Actual results: In attached screenshot, I used Ubuntu font, but the problem occurs also with standard fonts (eg. Arial). Expected results: In attached screenshot we see, that Google Chrome rendering this font correctly. Similary Internet Explorer 10.
Provide a simple testcase, please.

Looks like GDI rather than DirectWrite rendering. Is hardware acceleration disabled or not supported on your system? (Please post the Graphics section from about:support to confirm this.) With h/w acc enabled (and hence DirectWrite font rendering), I'd say that (to my eyes) the Firefox font rendering looks -better- than Chrome's on my Win8 machine. But I agree that under GDI, it looks rough.
Thank you. DirectWrite was disabled. Update graphics card drivers and changing the gfx.font_rendering.directwrite.enabled to 'true' helped. Problem solved, thank you again.
