Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.8; rv:20.0) Gecko/20100101 SeaMonkey/2.17.1 (Beta/Release)
Build ID: 20130410205209

Steps to reproduce:

After searching with opening several tabs, the system (a MacBook) falter (Google Translate translation).
The memory use was above 1 GiB (I have 2 GiB).
When closing all the tabs, the memory was still very high (661.7 MiB)

Expected results:

When closing tabs, giving it back to the system, for other programs to use.
Especially with all tabs closed.
Is this reproducible in Safe Mode (Help - Restart with Add-ons Disabled)?
Can you provide information from about:memory page (attach it as text file)?
Flags: needinfo?(cyberspace)
also worth going to about:memory from the SeaMonkey location bar to see what is grabbing all that memory.
