I've tried installing the 20010622 build for linux several times now and each time I get a freeze after I say "convert profile" from NN4.7 Also, when starting executable by hand (not from installer) Deleting ~/.mozilla does not help. Starting a blank profile does let me start the browser. Output is this: SHLIB_PATH=/home/vondo/mozilla-2001-06-22 LIBPATH=/home/vondo/mozilla-2001-06-22 ADDON_PATH=/home/vondo/mozilla-2001-06-22 MOZ_PROGRAM=/home/vondo/mozilla-2001-06-22/mozilla-bin MOZ_TOOLKIT= moz_debug=0 moz_debugger= *** QfaServices is being registered Inside Migrate Profile routine.
Seeing this with Netscape 6.1 also- I can create new profile and launch, I can run with -profilemanager and say yes to convert. (run up against bug 5922 in bugscape) but eventually launch problem seems to be one 4.x profile being automigrated- adding ccarlen to cc list- he may have some ideas
> problem seems to be one 4.x profile being automigrated- That is the problem. What I said on bugscape bug 5992 was that if the migration progress dialog is first to appear, you have this problem. Looks like we're talking about commercial here. It would be helpful to have confirmed what I've observed: * this doesn't happen on mozilla (where confirm migration dialog appears first) * this happens on commercial. BTW, build 20010622 was suffering from bug 86922 which was checked in today.
I'm seeing this with Netscape 6.1 also (branch build 2001-06-25-11-0.9.2) on Win 2k with only one 4.x profile being automigrated. Browser does not launch after install is complete.
No, my problem is with mozilla. Haven't tried with NS 6.1
Sorry, I should have read bug 86922 first. I will try a re-install and re-start on the machine I was having problems with and a recent build in a few days and update this bug then.
I was not able to reproduce with mozilla on system with one 4.x profile on windows. will test on mozilla on linux in am
This is bugscape bug 5992. I think there are some unflushed HTML elements in the process of termination of migration window. Closing this one as mozilla will not travel thru that path as migration confirmation dialog shows up by default and because of that things happen as expected.
