Creating a contact with a number like 1-800-CLEANUP doesn't work because the keyboard layout doesn't give me alphanumeric choices.

UX will address this after completing leo+, tef+ and tracking-b2g18+ bugs, which are the top UX priorities right now.
Changing the needinfo to Neo since this one is actually about keyboard. Neo, this bug is for the design of a keyboard that has letters on it, so that users (if they see a billboard that says 1-800-GOT-JUNK, for example) can see the letters on the keyboard they already have, and not have to find another phone in order to see if they typed in the correct numbers. Please let me know if you have any questions about the use case. 

This is a nice-to-have. It is NOT blocking or priority 1.2.
