:jeads we're completing system updates and need to do some intrusive work on datazilla. i just want to confirm with you it's okay that we pick an after hour time to complete these system tasks? do you have any preference to day of the week?

How long do you anticipate the tasks taking? Also, does it require taking down the web service and database?

I don't have a preferred day but I should inform the sheriffs and b2g users if the web service and database will be unavailable for a period of time.

it shouldn't take more than a couple minutes, but we would obviously want to plan a long enough maintenance window to cover anything unforeseen.

this only affects the web service itself, not the database servers. a restart of the web host is required to complete a kernel update.

agreed. :Usul, i will leave this up to you to arrange since you will be doing the heavy lifting here.

I can do that early or mid day in European days so it doesn't impact us too much. Is that better ? Let's say between 1 and 2 AM PST. Where shall I sent the email to reach the b2G users ?

Between 1 and 2 AM PST sounds good. If you can let me know the day you will perform the update I will send out notifications to sheriffs and other projects using datazilla.

Done. I've noticed that datazilla wasn't monitored so I filed 876353 for this.
