The new footer on mozillians.org takes too much screen estate, IMHO. Also, if I accidently mouse-over it, it grows to about 3rd my window size. For something I don't really ever click on, it's too invasive. Sry :-/
Bumping to wontfix - please advocate for it if you disagree. It's been discussed several times that the new footer is less than ideal, however we have a UI redesign/overhaul that will land in about a month that does not incorporate the intrusive footer design. The dev site is far from complete but you can get a sense of what the new site looks like. https://mozillians-dev.allizom.org/
