Hey Jared, We keep having to restart the SFO Boardroom HDMI receiver that is housed on-top of the projector. What happens is the projector is unable to setup the image even with multiple sources plugged in and properly switched and the only way to get the image back up is to pull/plug-in the POE Ethernet on the HDMI receiver. This has happened two times this week (a couple last week) and one of those times was in a board meeting w/ some VIP clients - not so good. You mentioned that there could be some programming issues w/ the coding in the Pro2 and I would like to explore that as a possibility - having to jump up on the table in the middle of a board meeting is not a solution.
No, it is not a solution. Okay, I'll come on site and suck out the error logs and update firmware to the latest version. I'll also consult Andrew about the program in the room. It's the second box with the same symptoms so I'm not willing o say it's another bad receiver at this time.
Thank you Jared - please let me know when you plan to come on site so that I can block the room off in the calendar.
Ok, I'll consult the calendar and get back to you ASAP!
Today I updated all of the Crestron equipment in the boardroom to the latest firmware version. I also extracted the error logs from the Pro2 to hand over to Andrew, who was the last person to do a program update. I'll email that over to him and have him take a look. I am hoping that the latest firmware will fix the bug that we are experiencing so let's begin monitoring the system again and see if our problem shows up again. Thanks! Jared
Thanks Jared. I am not sure if this is related (I think it is), but the roll down screen and projector did not turn on this morning when starting the on sequence. I had to shut down and then turn the room on again for both the projector and screen to come up.
Forgot to mention this happned to me as well like a week ago. I had to manually drop the screen and then cycle back and forth between audio and video conference to get the projector on.
Hey Jared - Have you heard back from Andrew on the logs?
No, I just got back into town. I'll hit him up today.
Hey Jared - the issue of the projector not turning on and screen not coming down is still apparent after the code update in Boardroom. Although, this issue has only happened once since the new code has been implemented. Any thoughts? This has to be some type of hardware issue at this point, right? Thanks for the help!
Hey Joel, Well, we already swapped the receiver at the projector and I don't think we're having a hardware issue with the switch. Let me consult about it. If there is an extra output on the switch I'll ask Aaron if we could change the program to call that output and put the projector on it. I'll also ask Aaron if he changed the string size from what Andrew had put in there for the projector programming. Until then, let me know if you see the issue again. Thanks! Jared
Sounds good - thank you for the update.
This issue popped up again today during a meeting. Lets please move forward with swapping the outputs on the switcher. Please let me know what date/time would work for you.
Hey Jared - Were you able to come up with an action plan for re-working the Boardroom as discussed last week? I do not believe that I have seen an email about it.
Hey Joel, Yes. Sorry about that. I'm in discussions with our Tim right now and we're coming up with what we think the best plan of action will be. We're leaning toward bringing that room up to par with the new rooms. I'll get back to you ASAP. In the meantime, was the room working okay today?
It has been working fine so far - fingers crossed. Thanks for the update.
Hey Jared - I was called into the Boardroom this afternoon due to Vidyo and local screen share through Vidyo not outputting any video. After a reboot of the DM receiver I noticed that it was not at fault. What I did notice, though, was two HDMI cables were damaged/broken/bent coming from the Vidyo box and from the Epefan/USB/DVI box. I replaced both cables, which in turn resolved both issues, but there are more cables that are really loose or damaged. I believe this was caused from pulling the rack in/out of the furniture so many times + end users trying to mess w/ the setup. Would it be possible to get a quote for just re-wiring the rack? It is a mess w/ many bad cables/adapters/connections. I know we are in talks about other additions to the Boardroom, but I think this re-wire is an immediate need. - Joel
Issue has been resolved w/ rack re-wire.
Issue is no longer apparent. Closing request.
