87507 - mozilla crashes from mail/news

Two issues with newsgroups. 

1. I have subscribed to uk computer os linux, and it tells me that there are
1607 messages. I try and look at them, and mozilla crashes. However, if I look
at redhat general ca 300 posts all is ok. I am also subscribed to 6+
groups.Guess it is the size of this group it does not like.As I can download
without problem from the others.

2. If I double click on someone's post I get their message up in a separate
window. Using the file menu, the closing option is greyed out, so I have to quit
which takes me out of mozilla, and not back to the mailnews window. Most irratating.

Neither of these issues seem to cause knode a problem!

Reporter, which build ID are you using? Please provide a list of steps to
reproduce the problem you're seeing.

Could you open a new bug report for the second problem? Having only one bug per
bug report makes handling them a lot easier.

I tried it but it asked me for a username and password that I did not have.

This worksforme using news.mcom.com (our internal news server) on
uk.comp.os.linux with 1226 messages.  Please try the latest nightly builds.

verified wfm.  if you can still reproduce this (reporter or anyone else) on a
current nightly build, then please re-open.
