+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #875382 +++

mach and testsuite-targets are currently parsing the output of the mochitest runner and manually exiting with 1 if there are any unexpected test failures. The general sentiment is the test runner itself should be doing these things.

This may have implications for automation and hence may not be as trivial as copying code from /testing/mochitest/mach_commands.py.
