From comment 1 of bug 862706: Having the current song shown with a highlight and a way to ff/rewind/pause/stop would be good within all the music play options; so you know which song is next and which song was the previous song.

This is going to happen as part of the new music UX. There will be a little widget at the bottom with controls and the now-playing info.
