this is a RFE / polish bug for one day.  we should fix the existing filter / 
search UI bugs first.

is this in filter-editor (deleting a criterium) or in the filter-list? I've many
times missed the latter.

It's filter/search criteria rows.  Some History: This was spec'd for 6.0, but we 
didn't even get close to implementation.  Idea was by deleting a row that way, 
you didn't have to delete the last criteria row first.  Original idea (don't 
know what will end up) was that there would be no more/fewer button, but that 
the criteria row area would behave like mail message compose window and Enter 
would add a row.

xref bug 195224 -- the fix for that does, at least, provide a way of deleting a 
criterion from the middle of the list (for both the suite and TB).

I wasn't sure if this needed another 'bug' report (I apologise if it should) but while we are at it, can we also allow multiple select/deletes of message filters instead of having to delete one at a time?

Filter part fixed on trunk by bug 145290.

All dupes have been about filters, none about the "search" part of this enhancement request (which also would negate bug 68894). Also don't find other open bugs regarding search+multi-row select/delete capability.  Given that, plus search's row delete mechanism substantially changed since the filing of this bug, I'm opting to dupe it to 145290.  If you want search to get the same capability as filter you'll want to file a new bug.
