Gradients that are defined and used within an SVG glyph embedded in an OpenType font using the "SVG " table (bug 719286) appear to be ignored when rendering. (I'm guessing that maybe the use of url(#gradientID) to refer to the gradient element doesn't resolve successfully, even though it's just a fragment identifier within the SVGGlyphs document.) I'll attach a test font that includes a glyph for U+264b (the zodiac Cancer sign) where the design is stroked in white on a gradient background. Unfortunately, the background doesn't render, so we get white on white! (Selecting the text shows that the white design is in fact present.) The sample document (to follow) also includes the same SVG glyph design embedded directly as an SVG graphic, to show the intended result with the background gradient present.

Fixed in bug 801467. Just haven't gotten around to landing it yet because I was waiting to get bug 798843 landed first.
