I keep Sent mail on an IMAP server. On sending a message, I get an alert dialog with "The current command did not succeed. The mail server responded: SEARCH the full text index needs to be rebuilt". OKing this then causes the sending succeeded but saving failed dialog to appear. However, the mail actually was copied to the Sent folder successfully, and shows up if I go to the Sent folder. From looking at the IMAP log (attached), it seems that after saving the message mozilla is searching for the header, and this is then causing a problem if search is not supported. This behaviour has changed between 0.9.1 and 2001062504, as it works fine on 0.9.1. IMAP server is Lotus Domino 5.0.1b

Note in the log that both the save to Sent, and the subsequent fetch of the message returned no errors, and it's not until the SEARCH command that an error is encountered.

Updating summary to specify Lotus Domino IMAP problem, adding "interop" keywords. Malcolm, do you have a test account for me to reproduce this problem? Can you email the server name, userid & passwd to me(huang@netscape.com)? thanks
Keywords: interop
Summary: FCC to IMAP server gives error even though succeeded → Lotus Domino IMAP: FCC to IMAP server gives error even though succeeded

Sorry, this is a corporate server and there's no way I could give out a test account on it. There's a trial download of Domino mail server available at http://www.lotus.com/home.nsf/welcome/dominomailserver that you could try. I find it a bit strange that the copying to sent results in a search at all - I don't understand what mozilla is trying to achieve with the search, given it already has identifiers for the new message in the store.
