(Whiteboard: [kb=889768])

There are a lot of files in /projects/firefox (http://viewvc.svn.mozilla.org/vc/projects/mozilla.org/trunk/projects/firefox/). As part of the legacy migration project in Q2 we need to make a list of content we can delete and content that we should migrate (and to where).
Review is underway. Tracking in this spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Au9T8KeO2UcLdDRiYVB1R0kzQXhqQ3d2WXExNnNwd3c&usp=sharing Started by removing everything in /projects/firefox/help/. These were only out of date images not referenced anywhere else on the site (r116523).

Removed more unused/un-referenced files in r116524 and r116525.
I've removed the obvious cruft and we're left with 21 pages (and one related CSS file) that will need review: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Au9T8KeO2UcLdDRiYVB1R0kzQXhqQ3d2WXExNnNwd3c&usp=sharing None are really relevant anymore - more like historical curiosities. I've recommended a couple of redirects/removals, but will need guidance on the other pages.
It turns out a bunch of these pages are already on www-archive.mozilla.org snapshot of the website that was setup during the transition from CVS to SVN. For example: http://www-archive.mozilla.org/projects/firefox/roadmap.html I'll run though the remaining pages and see which have been updated since that archive was setup.
All the pages that were already on www-archive are now removed and redirecting there (r116533, r116534). Also set up these redirects: /projects/firefox -> mozilla.org/firefox page. /projects/firefox/prerelease.html -> mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/firstrun This only leaves these two files: http://mozilla.org/projects/firefox/.htaccess This file should be reviewed and any pertinent redirects ported over to the bedrock global.conf and: http://www.mozilla.org/projects/firefox/roadmap.html This roadmap.html file is on www-archive, but that version is older than the one on mozilla.org. I'm not sure how best to handle that one.
> This only leaves these two files: Brilliant. Thank you. > http://mozilla.org/projects/firefox/.htaccess :sgarrity, do you recommend we make a new bug for this, or are you already working on this? > http://www.mozilla.org/projects/firefox/roadmap.html I believe the archive version sgarrity mentions is here: http://www-archive.mozilla.org/projects/firefox/roadmap.html It's quite a bit older. :jbertsch, do you think we need to preserve a roadmap from 2009? If so, I suggest it go to the wiki, like much of the other historic planning content has.

Hi Mike- Do you need this document to continue to live online? We'd like to delete it from mozilla.org as part of the php->python platform migration. We could move it to the wiki for you if that works. Thx, Jen

Mike Connor has confirmed via email that we can delete http://www.mozilla.org/projects/firefox/roadmap.html

We will also want to handle the .htaccess file (move its relevant contents to main .htaccess?) and get rid of the firefox directory itself. Once those are done, plus comment 8, we're done with this bug!
(In reply to Jennifer Bertsch [:jbertsch] from comment #8) > Mike Connor has confirmed via email that we can delete > http://www.mozilla.org/projects/firefox/roadmap.html Awesome. Removed roadmap.html in r117107. (In reply to Justin Crawford [:hoosteeno] from comment #9) > We will also want to handle the .htaccess file (move its relevant contents > to main .htaccess?) and get rid of the firefox directory itself. Once those > are done, plus comment 8, we're done with this bug! There is another bug about the .htaccess files sprinkled throughout the site now (Bug 885833). This bug can address this .htaccess file, and I'll make sure on that bug to remove the dir once it's empty.
