After logging in to view mail on outlook.com (http://www.outlook.com/), the page keeps "updating" during at least half a minute. During this "updating" the favicon in the tab list gets replaced with an icon indicating the page is loading. When this "updating" happens the browser is unresponsive to requests to open a certain email; I click on the email and nothing happens. I often have to click two or three times before an email opens.
In Internet Explorer 9 this constant "updating" of the page on outlook.com does not happen. I only have to click once to open an email message. Clicking two or three times is never necessary.
In Chrome 27 the favicon constantly indicates the page is loading. However, the browser remains responsive to clicks during this loading. In Chrome 27, I only have to press once to open an email. Never two or three times.
So, the fact that I often have to press two or three times to open an email in Firefox sounds like a Firefox bug to me.

Can you reproduce this issue in safe mode? How about with a clean profile?

Right now, with Firefox 22.0 installed, I cannot reproduce this issue at all anymore. I have tried various email addresses, I've opened hundreds of emails and they all opened the first time I've clicked. Now, there are a couple of possible explanations for this:
1) There was a code change in Firefox 22.0 which made the browser more responsive to clicks on outlook.com.
2) outlook.com itself changed some of its code.
3) Something else has changed.
After logging in to my email account on outlook.com I still see the "updating" of the page (favicon changing to updating symbol), but it only happens a couple of time now, less than 5 times. And the browser is still responsive to clicks when the page is updating, I can open an email message by clicking once.
The behaviour in Chrome 27 also seems to have changed. Before, I reported that in Chrome 27 "the favicon constantly indicates the page is loading". This is no longer the case. In Chrome 27, the favicon now shows the same behavior as in Firefox 22, i.e. the favicon changes to a loading symbol for a very short time for a couple of times after logging in to my email account. This leads to believe that reason 2 (outlook.com itself changed some of its code) might be true.
I haven't tried safe mode or a clean profile, since I cannot reproduce the issue anymore anyways.
I will report back again if I ever encounter this issue again. But right now, I cannot reproduce the issue anymore. It no longer takes 2 or 3 clicks to open an email, but just 1.
