Details

In my Downloads preferences I have selected "Always ask me where to save files" (but the "Save files to" is also populated with the default ~/Downloads dir and greyed out). If I initiate a file download Save dialog will default to ~/Downloads directory because the previous location I used is no longer available (either it was an external disk or a temporary RAM disk, or network directory no longer available), but if I now select a different location from the dialog, *.part file will be left in ~/Downloads directory permanently. After a while the number of *.part files grows and has to be cleaned manually.

Mario, are you still experiencing this issue on the latest Firefox version? http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/
I have not have this happen with Firefox 24.
