Steps to reproduce:

We could reproduce this issue on our Terminal Server 2008 Enviroment connecting via RDP Session from Thinclients and/or Workstations. Also on standalone Workstations using Firefox 21 on a standard Windows 7 64Bit System.

How to reproduce the issue :

1. Open File / Print / Properties (you can do this via the Menu or from a "print" button on a webpage directly)
2. The Printer Properties Popup appears correct - you can change settings and print for a few times but suddenly when trying to do the same thing (enter Printer Properties) - the Property Popup won't show and more. (Sounds a bit crazy but to reproduce it you have to do this several times - sometimes it needs only 2 or 3 times to open and close the printer properties - sometimes it works 30 or 40 times - no joke !)
3. In this case you even can't click on file in the menu any more (it doesn't open in any way any more - sometimes it takes a few minutes and it will work again - but mostly not!)
4. You can close firefox but after that you are not able to start it again while it says firefox is already running (crashed in the background) you can only close it via Task Manager.
5. Firefox can be started again and you can reproduce the issue over and over again via this procedure (Steps 1-4)



Actual results:

Firefox works fine so far - everything seems normal but you are not able to print any more until you close firefox via Task-Manager and start it over. Sometimes after the printer Properties are gone you get a "printer error - not available" error when you click on print again.


Expected results:

Usually if you click on printer properties - the dialog (popup) of the printer properties will show. This works a few times but then for some reason it produces the behaivoir described above.

I have already tried to use different Printers (Network Printers, Local Printers, different Brands, Print to File or PDF) but even if there is no Printer installed and you use a "fresh Windows" and print to "Microsoft XPS Document Writer" you can reproduce the issue.

I can't reproduce the issue after displaying the Printer property window fifteen times.

Does it happen in Safe Mode (see https://support.mozilla.org/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode)?

Yes, same thing in safe mode.

As i already said - sometimes this happens at clicking it for two or three times and as i tried it a few minutes ago i needed around 50 or 60 clicks...

I could reproduce the same behaviour on another machine running FF 10.0.2

Seems like this could be a "64bit OS only" Issue while i couldn't reproduce the Error on our 32Bit Machines running the same FF Release Versions.

Installed Waterfox (64Bit) 18.0.1 and the Problem seems to be gone. Will test it on our Win2K8 Terminal Servers and post the result here.

I was able to reproduce this issue running FireFox 17.0.8 ESR on a Windows Server 2008 R2 terminal server.  When the user brings up the properties on their networked copier (Kyocera TASKalfa 6550ci KX running 64 bit driver v6.0.22.12), they change one setting and cancel out of the print box.  They are then not able to bring up print properties until FireFox is closed and then the firefox.exe process terminated using Task Manager.  I tried having them reset the print settings as per

Print properties comes up fine for Microsoft Word and other applications on this server.

Im having this same issue.
FF 24 and 25.
FF and Seamonkey are effected. All other applications are ok.
Printer 1: Kyocera FS-C5250 via Local Network
Printer 2: Dymo LabelWriter 450 via USB.
Win 7 Ultimate 64bit.
MacBook6,2 using Bootcamp drivers
Also running TB v24 (cant run latest version due to "reply-to" bug)
Problem is the same as the video except that I dont get an error message.

Repeatable by:
1. Page open in FF. 
2. File>>Print>> Properties
Result: This brings up the properties window OK.
3. Press Print
Result: FF prints this first print job ok.OK.
4. Repeat steps 1-3 for a second time ion the same page.
Result: Properties window will not show. But can still print to Printer 1.
Will not print to Printer 2

Fixed by re-booting FF
Problem not showing in TB

To clarify, 
1. When i said "Fixed by re-booting FF" I meant the "File>>Print>> Properties" window pops up again until issue is triggered again.
2. There seems to be a clash between mozilla FF and the printer driver for the Dymo Labelwriter 450.
- I have 2 macbooks, one a clone of the other, that does not show this issue and has not got the Dymo driver installed.
- Problem is triggered by printing to the Dymo LabelWriter. From this point on the Print Properties window does not show.
I hessitate to declare that this is a Printer driver issue since this problem is not showing in any other app., but only in FF and Seamonkey.

This looks like the same issue as bug 1152353.
Duplicating to that, as that is where the fix landed.

If anyone can still reproduce this problem on Firefox 54 (current Beta) or later then please re-open with new steps to reproduce, thanks.
