Steps to reproduce:

Installed both TB 64bit and 32bit versions of Daily to the same machine (different locations) as I need to go back to 32bit sometimes to test if issues are with 64bit version



Actual results:

The automated updater seems to overwrite whatever version I happen to be running with the 64bit version, so I los the 32bit version and have to manually reinstall

NOTE: As TB doesn't currently indicate which version it's running (it gives a build version and date, but that just refers to a folder, which contains BOTH 32bit and 64bit versions) I have to check file date and version, but I'm "fairly" sure the 32bit version is getting overwritten



Expected results:

TB needs the automated updater to work for the 64bit and 32bit versions - probably this is related to the fact that they reside in the same download folder

NOTE: TB needs to have clearer version information available (e.g. am I on the 32bit / 64bit version) - I am logging this as a seperate feature request

I tried uninstalling all versions and reinstalling. I unchecked auto updating option in installer. Now it seems the last install is the one referred to in the build config. As Thunderbird release was the last version I installed ONLY that version will run (or that is the build:config displayed), even though I have installed the other versions in different locations and run from there!
hmmm...I have a theory that what seemed like only 1 version running, was because TB was not shutting down properly. So for example I was running daily, then had a problem, shut down (or so I thought) and ran earlybird (or so I thought) and it was reporting that it was daily (exact same version), even though I could clearly see they were different exes!

I will test this out next time I have a problem with daily and need to shut down (it seems to be related to an issue of sending imap mail)
ok I've narrowed this down to Daily 32bit / 64bit both not quitting fully, but I have also tested in safe mode and they do...time to start disabling addons again I think. This doesn't look like a TB issue, rather an addon, so I'm closing this bug...not that amyone's interested anyway!
