From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; WinNT4.0; en-US; rv:0.9.1+) Gecko/20010627 BuildID: 2001062704 Browser displays most of page http://www.docent.com/ except for a large image in middle of page and what seems to be a flash animation in middle right (viewed this OK in IE). Browser hangs after page partially displayed, and checking task manager shows that browser is using 96-99% of CPU. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Attempt to load http://www.docent.com 2. See the problem. Actual Results: Page is partially displayed, then browser hangs while using 96-99% of CPU. Hang seems to be indefinite. Expected Results: Normal page display. I do not have any Java plug-in installed, although the page (viewed in IE) does not seem to use Java. In any case, the browser should not suck up the entire CPU and hang even if Java is required and the Java plug-in is not installed. It should display what it can and ignore the rest or gracefully report an error.
This took up most of the cpu for 2-3 seconds on 2001062909/Linux and then there was some pretty heavy network activity after the page had, apparently, finished rendering. Nothing particularly horrible though... Build 2001062909/Linux kernel 2.4.3-20mdk cpu: PIII 500
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:0.9.2) Gecko/20010628 The page loaded fine, and I didn't experience any unusual CPU utilisation hit. Might be NT4 specific ? CPU: AMD 900
I've installed the Mozilla 0.9.2 release (build 2001062815) and have reproduced the problem with this build on NT 4.0 SP6. I let the browser try to load the page for nearly two minutes, and the CPU remained pegged at 97-99% utlization. This time everything on the page loaded OK except the Flash piece under 'Global Strategic Integrators'. Can someone else with NT4 check this?
WORKSFORME, build 2007070808, NT 4.00.1381. No unusual behavior (all images appear, flash animation works).
Oops! Build 2001070808, Service Pack 6.
wmf too, probably the site code has changed?
wfm with win2k build 20010615.. Reporter: Are you using a proxy ?
It now works for me on NT 4 SP6 (original bug report setup) using build 2001071604. Looks like this one can be closed!
