I don't know about you, but I hate (and I mean really hate) it when I'm web-surfing on my merry little way in a myriad of windows and they keep trying to steal focus from one another. Now, I'm no Java programmer, but I'm told that much of this behavior is due to JS focus(). I want JS focus() to die; at least on my web browser. If other people want to keep it, fine. But I dare say there would be a choir of like-minded people singing Mozilla's praises if it were to incorporate this proposed feature. Thank you for your time.
Reassigning to Browser-General for consideration; although this may be a known dupe. Compare bug 29346 "Prevent repeating pop-up windows"
giving to mstoltz who will hopefully explain that this can already be done.
Take a look at http://www.mozilla.org/projects/security/components/configPolicy.html (use Window.focus in place of Window.open in the example)
Good, that means it would be a lot easier to implement in the preferances dialog box that most users would know how to get at.
sorry. this bug wfm and there's already a bug for a ui. this bug isn't asking for it, if it were i'd have marked this as dupeme (or duped it myself).
