We are seeing significant traffic going to over 280 different URLs with Web Trends parameters appended. Can we please update any Web Trends URLs with their appropriate utm parameters?

It looks like this traffic is being driven by direct / email and youtube.

Example WT URL to switch over GA utm param:

WT
/en-US/firefox/new/?WT.mc_id=gmail

GA
/en-US/firefox/new/??utm_medium=email&utm_source=gmail&utm_campaign=[insertCampaignName]

Do you want to make a spreadsheet of the URLs, source, and WT parameters?

Here's a protected link to the spreadsheet with the list of URLs, source, and WT parameters:

What is your recommendation here? It will be difficult to find all the sources of those WT tags and change them to UTM. Could we create a report that shows the highest referring traffic to mozilla.org with WT tags so we can change those websites directly?

We may be able to use a filter in GA to switch these to utm_campaign params.

According to web trends, the WT.mc_id parameter, short for "Marketing Campaign ID," is used to identify campaigns.

What do you think if I switch all of these to campaigns? This is something we could try in our www.mozilla.org (testing) profile, before we add to our production GA profile.

I think switching them to utm campaigns would work and yes trying it on the testing profile is best.
