From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:0.9.2) Gecko/20010628 BuildID: 2001062815 In the page, there should be some latin characters under level 2 heading. However, most of them are missing. Also, the copyright sign (©) near the end of the page is missing. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Load Mozilla in a Traditional Chinese Win98SE system. 2.View this page: http://www.mozilla.org/quality/browser/debugtc/bft_browser_html_mix3.html Actual Results: - Only 2 of the Latin characters are rendered. Screenshot: http://www2.comp.polyu.edu.hk/~c9128754/mozilla.png - Copyright sign near the end of the page is missing. Expected Results: Mozilla should display all of them. Character coding "Western (ISO-8859-1)" is selected.
This seems like a serious problem. Do you have the fonts necessary to display these characters?

Oh, thanks! Finally someone notice this bug report! This single problem can keep people (at least me) from using Mozilla on Chinese OS. Yes, I am sure I have the necessary fonts. I have tried both Times New Roman and Verdana, set encoding to ISO8859-1, but the problem did not go away. For reference, IE5.5 renders that page just fine when I select ISO8859-1.

I can not reproduce it on: 1. WinME-Ja / 07-05 branch build 2. Win98-En / 07-16 branch build. 3. Win2k-Cn / 07-13 branch build.

It could be specific to Win98 Traditional Chinese. Does IQA have the environment?

this could be caused by the same problem in bug 115374. ylong: try to reproduce on k/sc/tc version of win95/98/me/nt highly likely a font association issue.
Target Milestone: mozilla1.0 → ---

Those characters are displayed fine on 12-27 win32 trunk build on both S.CN and KO win98. So I assume the fix for bug 115374 has fixed this problem too. Mark as verified as dup.
