In my top sites (eg, about:newtab, url-bar autocomplete), I see both http://facebook.com and https://facebook.com.  It seems that if identical URLs apart from the "s" in the protocol exist, the "http://" one shouldn't be shown.  

This is particularly noticeable in the about:newtab - especially if the thumbnails are missing :)

This can only be done if some source can tell us 100% they are the same page. That doesn't exist yet unfortunately.
