Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:22.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/22.0 (Beta/Release)
Build ID: 2013062200
Steps to reproduce:
Using Firefox 22, installed today with OpenSUSE Yast2 rpm update, I decided to tweak two content preference settings. Under Edit/Preferences/Content, I selected Fonts & Colors/Advanced and changed my monospace font from Bitstream Vera Sans Mono to DejaVu Sans Mono and clicked OK. In Languages/Choose... I added Norwegian(no) and Russian (ru) to the end of the list and clicked OK. I closed the preferences tab and resumed browsing and soon restarted the browser.
Actual results:
The font and language changes were not saved. When the process was repeated, the font and language settings had their former, unchanged values. Other preferences that are changed without popups seem to be saved properly. Changing the font and language settings with about:config also works just fine. Changing, for example, an advanced font setting and clicking OK, and then immediately bringing up the change popup again shows the unchanged value. It's as though the OK button is being treated like Cancel.
Expected results:
The changed preferences should have been saved.
Sorry for getting no answer. Are you still able to reproduce this issue?
Flags: needinfo?(ks)
Yes, I can still reproduce the same error with Firefox 39.0.3 on one machine only. This is my main desktop
workstation (homebuilt), currently running OpenSUSE 13.1 w/KDE and Firefox 39.0.3. On two other machines
(a Thinkpad T430 running OpenSUSE 12.3 and a homebuilt server running OpenSUSE 13.2), the Firefox 39.0.3
change popups work just fine and save any changes I make correctly. All three computers are using very
similar (but not identical) lists of about 40 Firefox addons
I wonder if there is something unusual in the files for my user profile, which has been in constant use
through many Firefox upgrades over a period of years. I've tried unsuccessfully to figure it out from time
to time, but just work around the problem rather than starting over with a new profile because of all the
addons I need to set up. Any ideas?

Could you please try to reproduce on a new profile: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles
To fix your own profile you have may options:
Create a new Profile and use Sync to keep your data.
Use Safe Mode and find the Add-On that breaks your profile: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode
Refresh Firefox: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/refresh-firefox-reset-add-ons-and-settings
