Since the Zimbra upgrade this past weekend, I no longer seem to be able to search conference room descriptions when scheduling a meeting. A common workflow for me was trying to find an available room in SF with a good Vidyo setup. I previously did this by doing: 1. New Appointment (shortcut: na) 2. click the Location button 3. enter "SFO" in "Name" field and "Vidyo" in the "Description" (I think!) field, and hit enter This would show the list of conference rooms in SF with the good Vidyo setup so that I could pick from the (rare) ones that were free at the given time (rather than having to scan through the long list of every conf room in SF to manually pick out the ones with good Vidyo setups). (Similarly, I sometimes searched for "table" when I wanted a small conf room with a table rather than couches.) Now (post upgrade), if I put any of these things in the "Description" field, my search comes up blank.
Can we please resolve this bug soon?
I filed a support case with Zimbra. http://bugzilla.zimbra.com/show_bug.cgi?id=62674 claims this has been broken since version 7.1.2. We'd been running 7.2.1 for quite a while and 7.2.2 for the last month or so before the 8.0.4 upgrade.

In the short term - I am adding Vidyo to the Building field on all the rooms that have Vidyo. You should be able to search for Vidyo rooms that way until we fix the description field.
I got a workaround from Zimbra, the workaround is to disable the GALSyncAccount so that directory lookups are made directly against the internal LDAP database rather than using the address book of the GALSync user. I've done so for the mozilla.com domain. I cannot do this for the mozillafoundation.org domain or they won't be able to search mozilla.com users at all (so if your account is in the mozillafoundation.org domain, this will still be broken for you).

People are now complaining that auto-complete no longer works. Please revert back.
(In reply to Jennifer Hayashi [:nej] from comment #5) > People are now complaining that auto-complete no longer works. Please > revert back. This got reverted the same day, didn't get mentioned on the bug for some reason. I've pinged again on the support ticket and the Bugzilla bug as I haven't seen any additional action on it since the workaround we were given.

Do we have any updates on this? Someone asked me whether they thought it would be fixed soon? With all the conf rooms in Mountain View they want to be able to filter out some of the rooms a little better.
According to the upstream bug, this hasn't been fixed yet. I've pinged Zimbra support again. Ticket 00115198 is the original ticket, 00122961 is an escalation request.

I got a response back on April 18th that didn't make it back into this bug that the fix for this would be included in the version 8.5 release.

As mentioned previously, this was indeed fixed in Zimbra 8.5, however we have no plans to upgrade to 8.5 prior to our migration to GMail. That makes this a WONTFIX for our purposes. Sorry.
