Hey Tim, thanks for the link to the gdoc. I took those as a starting point and came up with some options below. Let me know what you think.

Hi everyone,
I have posted a few snippet options based on Matej's copy. The one thing I was finding tricky was to get both a Nightly and W8 logo in the same space. Are we able to have a few of the options cycle through, 2 with a Nightly logo and 2 with a W8 logo?
Cheers,
Matt

Personally, I feel better about a Nightly logo there than a Windows one. Is it possible to put the Nightly logo on some sort of background, or add some other form of visual polish to make it stand out more?

Hey John, I've added an updated v4, in which I've added a dark box and bumped up the lights a bit more. It's a tricky logo to scale down to that size, but I think this brings it a bit closer to what you were looking for. Let me know!

Sort of. Not exactly feeling the square, though. What if the background only covered the lower half the logo? Something to create the sense of the logo sort of rising out of the background rather than sitting on it.

I see what you're saying John. I've taken a different approach, although not sure if how you are envisioning. But I felt this way gives a bit more of a dynamic feel to it than my previous post. I can see this cropped way working for different positions on the globe itself, ie, appearing to rise.

Thanks Matt. Am thinking I prefer v4 to v4a. Tim, Laura - is this at all what you were thinking of?
Comment 22•13 years ago

Yeah this looks great :) I like v4 as well.

Thanks guys, I've attached the snippet(v4) as a png at 40x50px as well.

Thanks John, Matt, Matej, and Jen for all of your help! We'll be going with the last three options for copy and the v4a design for the snippet.
