* I know this ticket might be redundant, but I'm going to file it anyway -- in open source fashion :)
* One of the biggest things I hear from my -- anecdotal and totally un-scientific -- polling of new users of the site is: they find the "flippi-ness" confusing
* Take the video on the front page right now. How do you play it? This is actually surprisingly complex to figure out how to do.
* I'd be really curious for us to observe users encountering the front page for the first time and see how they interact.
* I know we all have opinions around whether "to flip or not to flip" -- but would be really curious to see how real humans respond.
@ Leah: you have some user testing feedback on this as well, I believe.
TL;DR:people love the activity and crowd-sourced feel of site but have no idea what they should or could do when they get there. Cursor roll-over seems to suggest tooltip or more information but instead they get flip-side and get new information as opposed to explantion that builds on what they may have already seen.

Yes, from showing the site at kitchen tables and party events if users are driving they end up rolling over and flipping the tiles without realising it. So they don't know what they've done and what they're expected to do and what kind of "make" they've engaged with. They may not even know what a make is yet.

At events i start with webmaker.org and are tried and true interest-based question of what interests you? what do you want to make? The "Starter Make" cross-banner is helpful because it provides some direction but still not enough. What can you make? How do you make it? Why remix? Is remix making? (I got this q last week in a workshop)
So, RESO FIXED on this? I'd be most comfortable if Cassie signed off on it and said she was taking the feedback under advisement.
