r+ for breaking out updateSlider() into a separate function.
But r- for calling updateSlider() from playerEnded().
I think it would be better to call updateSlider from setControlsVisibility. Currently there is code at line 155 that updates the time but not the slider. I think you should replace that line with a call to updateSlider(). If you do that, I don't think you'll need the call in playerEnded. (But if I'm wrong, then it is safe to leave it in player ended, of course.)
I'll be on vacation, so you'll want to ask dkuo or daleharvey for followup review.

I was not able to uplift this bug to v1-train. If this bug has dependencies which are not marked in this bug, please comment on this bug. If this bug depends on patches that aren't approved for v1-train, we need to re-evaluate the approval. Otherwise, if this is just a merge conflict, you might be able to resolve it with:
git checkout v1-train
git cherry-pick -x -m1 9bbedef67226c1185d67b9e1b7332691bea665b0
<RESOLVE MERGE CONFLICTS>

This issue was merged in V1.1 manually.
