The titlebar for TB changes into the default OS X title bar when dragged into the extended screen when using an external monitor. See http://imgur.com/RWzUOs1.

It changes back to the normal title bar when dragged back to laptop's screen.

This happens only in TB25 that's built from http://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/rev/85d75ed04851

This doesn't happen in my release version of TB17. Possibly a regression.
I can't test this, I have no second monitor. Please can you try Firefox with the same revision? When this also happens with Firefox I suppose it's a toolkit issue.
I can see that in firefox 25 too. See http://imgur.com/ktz8M0T.

The rev is http://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/rev/dcbbfcdf7bb4
Component: Mail Window Front End → General
Product: Thunderbird → Firefox
Version: 25 → 25 Branch
Summary: OS X default title bar appears when TB window is dragged into extended desktop screen → OS X default title bar appears when Firefox window is dragged into extended desktop screen
Is this a retina -> normal screen thing? I think I've seen it in FF 24 as well.

Seems likely.

The regression is somewhere between

http://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/rev/00b264c7cced

and

http://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/rev/97aa3da59001
Version: 25 Branch → 24 Branch
I'm guessing I caused this in bug 871590.
