User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:22.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/22.0 (Beta/Release)
Build ID: 20130618035212

Steps to reproduce:

Trying to merge 4 IMAP mail accounts into a unique one. The accounts were imported with a 14GB mbox file from another computer.
Platform used is Windows 8 Pro, standalone Sata disc, decent i5 CPU with 8 GB RAM, latest Thunderbird 17.0.7version (just downloaded).

Actual results:

What happens is that:
1) Moving the whole content of a folder to the other account is impossible. It starts, and interrupts after a while, but no mail is moved (that means disappears from the original folder.
2) The cause seems to be the size of the chunk, and probably the interruption has to do with communication failure (response time) with the IMAP server.
So, after copying (it first makes copies, and only when the whole stuff is copied, it removes the original files. If it cannot copy all, and let's say copies 9999 of 10,000 files, all the 10,000 files remain in the original folder.
3) I am absolutely unable to copy successfully a file that is 3MB big to the other folder. Consider that I have a few files that are 31MB ...

Expected results:

Even if it takes a long time because it is much data,
a) either it should retry with communication failures or delays, or it should delete all copied mails at least.
b) THere should be a 100% reliable way to move folder content at once.

you might try the beta at http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/channel/

please specify exactly how you are copying:
* copy via drag and drop?
* copy via menus?

Also, you don't have a problem during selection, correct?

Hi guys,

I just saw the new comment.
I had "solved" the problem by asking a provider who offers 200Mbit up/download speed for the password of their wi-fi in a shop.
Then I spent 3 days outside in the car with the laptop, 4-5 hours each time, merging the accounts.

I can only add, that the fault I described was a kind of timeout due to slower upload speed.
I didn't the problem with 200Mbit (in reality it was much less. I surely was not the only one attached to the net. It was approx. 30Mbit upload).

Sorry if I cannot add anything else, but I solved it my way.
Also sorrily, the provider didn't extend his cabling to where I live ;)

Have a nice new year!
Orazio
