RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 873110

People

(Reporter: randfspratt, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:22.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/22.0 (Beta/Release)
Build ID: 20130618035212

Steps to reproduce:

After Win7 resuming from a sleep or hibernate maximise FF, click on a tab and it does not change to it, scroll or drag the page down and nothing happens, open another tab it does not open. It has started when FF updated to 22.

Close FF22 is about the only command that FF22 responds to. Reopening FF22 having done one of the above and surprise surprise it has changed to the tab I tried to select, or the scroll has worked or a new blank tab is open.

This happens EVERY time I unhibernate / unsleep my laptop and has never happened on a previous version.

Are you able to reproduce the issue each time?

With in a power on-off session it is reproducible. Others have also reported the issue on a forum I'm on. However, turning off and the issue does not always reproduce.

Do you use a special hardware like SSD with Firefox installed?

In addition, as you're able to reproduce it, could you test with the portable version of Firefox installed on USB flash drive.

After that, if the issue is still present on various hardware, we could start to search a possible regression.

No special hardware. Its a bog standard laptop straight from the shop. the only addition is a Microsfot USB wireless mouse.

Yes this seems to a duplicate of the above bug. I use win 7 with Firefox 22.0 and the same happens every time I do some other work and come back to FF. Very frustrating. Last bit of work I done comes back on the new window, after closing the last frozen one.
I posted some details in comment https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=873110#c14 to find a possible regression range. Users, could you check it please.
Users in bug 873110 say it has been fixed in Firefox 23 beta.
Reporter, could you install FF23 and test, please.

Hi,
I have the same problem and I can reproduce it on my Win7 FF22!

If I go to hibernate (FF still opend) and came back the NEXT DAY it doesn't work! (behavior like the first post describes)

If I wake up the system the same Day it goes to hibernate all is ok.

I can reproduce this behavior by changing the Date in BIOS befor Windows resuming from hibernate.

It don't care if the hardware accaleration is ON or OFF, the problem is still their, if the Date or maybe Time (didn't check) has changed.

Dominik
OK it seems to work on the FF23 beta version. I have changed the Date in BIOS befor resuming from hibernate and it works...

Great thing!
