User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.2; WOW64; rv:20.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/20.0 (Beta/Release) Build ID: 20130326150557 Steps to reproduce: Had a tab open with a large image (4+MB) and my connection to the host wasn't very fast. Closed the tab before the image was even 1/10th loaded. Actual results: According to my bandwidth monitor, the image continued to download in the background despite the tab having been closed. Expected results: The data should have stopped coming through immediately.
I think this is expected. Justin, any thoughts please ?

> it happens on Gecko as well. Sorry, I meant s/Gecko/desktop Firefox/, as opposed to B2G. Except it looks like you're on desktop. It's still early. :)
